Paldiski South Harbour is a cargo harbour located in Paldiski, Estonia, 45 km west of the capital city Tallinn. [1] The harbour is owned by Port of Tallinn. Paldiski South Harbour is the main Ro-Ro harbour for Estonia. The main cargo groups handled in the harbour are: Ro-Ro, general cargo/break bulk cargo, solid bulk goods and liquid bulk.
The cargo volume handled accounts for around 80% of the total cargo volume of Port of Tallinn and approximately 90% of the transit cargo volume passing through Estonia. Nearly 3/4 of cargo loaded in Muuga Harbour includes crude oil and oil products, but the harbour also serves dry bulk (mostly fertilizers, grain and coal) and other types of cargo.
Port of Tallinn (Estonian: Tallinna Sadam) is the biggest port authority in Estonia. Taking into account both cargo and passenger traffic, it is one of the largest port enterprises of the Baltic Sea. The Lancia Ro, Lancia Ro-Ro and Lancia 3Ro were 4x2 heavy trucks built by Italian manufacturer Lancia from the 1930s through the 1940s for military and civilian use. The 2-cylinder diesel Ro was produced from 1933 to 1939, the 3-cylinder diesel Ro-Ro from 1935 to 1939 and the improved 5-cylinder diesel 3Ro from 1938 to 1947.
A restored 1940 Dodge RX70 Airflow Texaco tanker truck is on display at the Transport World museum in Invercargill, New Zealand. [2] [3] This truck is believed to be the only one of its type in the world that can still be driven. It was a highlight of the 2017 Southland Truck Parade held in Invercargill in October 2017. [4]
