These organizations are chartered by the New York State Board of Regents , and charged with facilitating cooperative library services and improving reference and research resources for the people of New York.

Rye Neck's district has four schools located on three different campuses, the middle and high schools being attached. Rye Neck is known for its up-to-date technology in the classrooms, such as interactive whiteboards in every room, and its fully fiber optic network, provided by Optimum Lightpath, connecting every computer in the four schools.
It serves a portion of the Urbandale city limits, [2] and is entirely in Polk County. [ 3 ] In January 2018 the district presented a plan to replace four elementary schools built in the 1950s and 1960s-Jensen, Olmsted, Rolling Green and Valerius-with two new buildings.
