Hutto was established in 1855 when the International-Great Northern Railroad passed through land owned by John Hutto (1824–1914), for whom the community is named. Railroad officials designated the stop Hutto Station. James Hutto was born in Alabama on June 8, 1824; he came to Texas in 1847 and moved his family to Williamson County in 1855.

Cowichan Tribes (Halkomelem: Quwʼutsun) is the band government of the Cowichan, a group of Coast Salish peoples who live in the Cowichan Valley region on Vancouver Island. With over 3,800 registered members, it is the single largest First Nations band in British Columbia .
Cowichan Valley is a provincial electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, established by the Electoral Districts Act, 2008 out of parts of Cowichan-Ladysmith and Malahat-Juan de Fuca. It was first contested in the 2009 general election in which New Democrat Bill Routley was elected MLA.
"Valley" is often used in the western United States to refer to a large expanse with rivers. Most such valleys, including the Rio Grande, have good agricultural production. [ 33 ] [ 1 ] Early 20th-century land developers, attempting to capitalize on unclaimed land, utilized the name "Magic Valley" to attract settlers and appeal to investors.
