Historic Barns of Connecticut is a Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation project dedicated to the documentation and preservation of barns. The program includes a grant program and a database. [2] The project began listing barns in 2004. By June 2011 8,200 barns had been documented in Connecticut, said project director Todd Levine.
The buildings stand together in their original village setting. Most properties include a period barn or carriage house and all have ample yards that once served as pasture, field or garden, and recalls the appearance of an inland Connecticut farming community when agriculture was the basis of the local economy.
Twelve church complexes, with 26 buildings, were covered in a Multiple Property Submission study of churches in Stamford conducted in 1987. One of these, St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church, was already listed on the National Register. Some of the others were subsequently listed as result of the study.

The Redding Center Historic District is a 55-acre (22 ha) located in Redding, Connecticut, encompassing its historic village center. It includes the town's current and former town halls, a church, a cemetery, private homes and barns. [2] The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 1, 1992. [1]
