Wendell Hampton Ford (September 8, 1924 – January 22, 2015) was an American politician from Kentucky.A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Governor of Kentucky from 1971 to 1974, and as a member of the United States Senate for 24 years from 1974 to 1999.

Incumbent Senator Wendell Ford won reelection to a fourth and final term. As of 2023, this was the last time Democrats won a U.S. Senate election in Kentucky.
