In the latest update, the ability to "Save As" a jpg is gone, for whatever reason. Now the only way to save a jpg from a PSD file is to us Export As. Even with quality set to high, it always exports the jpg as 72dpi, and there doesn't seem to be a way to specify what dpi you want the jpg to be saved at. Now every time I export a jpg, I have to ...

Firstly, I know this is a long post, but it was necessary. I am making a website where images will be available on web, but they can also be saved by users and printed. 5. How do I know the resolution (DPI?) of a PDF file?

Raster images have a dpi, but the page content of a PDF is a vector graphic, which does not have dpi. Vector graphics can scale to any size without lose of quality, essentially an infinate dpi. That said, PDF page content can include raster images. In that case, the part that is a raster image has a dpi rating, and it can be seen in Acrobat.

I've ensured the display performance is set to high quality from the view menu, object menu, and my preferences. I've ensured the PPI of the main image is over 300. I've ensured the main image is over 24 inches wide. I've tried enabling and disabling antialiasing. I've checked pretty much everything, but nothing has really fixed the problem.

in Photoshop CC 2015.1 I have made sure that my image is at 300dpi by going to "Image > Image Size" and setting the resolution to 300 pixels per inch. However, when I go to "File > Export > Export As > JPG" the image is exported at 96 dpi. I know that PS is exporting at 96 dpi because when I open t...

Export/SFW is for web/screen/mobile devices, where ppi is irrelevant. So the ppi value is removed from the file. It's not 72, not 96, not 300. It doesn't have a ppi. Those figures appear when the file is reopened into another application. They may need some ppi value for other reasons, but any number will do.

This is an old thread, but as I've stumbled upon it, I'll add my experience and 2 cents. I have to save 300 ppi transparent pngs all the time as I'm a digital graphics creator. Let me address a couple of things from this thread: Even if you don't need 300 ppi (Dpi) for most printing, most print services ask that you provide 300 ppi.

  11. Solved: Saving in 300 DPI? - Adobe Community - 2199706

    community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/saving-in-300-dpi/m-p/2199706

Save for the web and device is exactly that not the right way to go about this, if you need 300 ppi, not 300 dpi. and 1200 x 1200 pixels is 1200 x 1200 pixels so 300 ppi in this relationship is a a dimensions matter. so a 1200 x 1200 pixel document at 300 ppi is 4 inches x 4 inches.
