Nueva Vizcaya had its first own representation in the Malolos Congress from 1898 to 1899, wherein it returned two delegates. [1] Its representation was restored in 1916, ahead of the Philippine Assembly that commenced in 1917. It included the present-day Quirino Province until 1973.

The Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Board is the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial legislature) of the Philippine province of Nueva Vizcaya. The members are elected via plurality-at-large voting: the province is divided into two districts, each having five seats. A voter votes up to five names, with the top five candidates per district being elected.
