The Macomb Area Conference (abbreviated to MAC) (formerly known as the Macomb Athletic Conference) is a high school sports league located in Southeastern Michigan. It is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). There are currently 36 members, spread across Macomb County, St. Clair County, Oakland County, and Wayne County.
The Mid-American Conference added softball as a varsity sport for the 1982 season, but regular-season conference play did not begin until 1983. The first tournament in 1982 featured all ten conference members, with two rounds of single-elimination play, followed by double-elimination rounds with the final four teams.
The 2015 Mid-American Conference (MAC) softball tournament was held at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio, from May 6 through May 9, 2015. [1] The tournament winner will earn the Mid-American Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament. All games will be streamed via mac-sports.com.
