It's default palette is really nice for this stuff, as it has lots of hues on similar bit ranges, so often changing the colour of your characters shirt can be done with a bit of bit twiddling or changing the palette entries. Though you may be doing modern 16m colour pixel work, so this may not help you. 4.

  4. About the 8-bit style... : r/Megaman - Reddit

On the plus side for the 8-bit style, the action is focused on key frames and the environment has clearly defined platforms, while the higher-bit artwork uses larger sprite work with a lot of extra frames thrown in there that make the animation look "floaty" and kinda fuzz out the sharp definitions for platforms.

  5. As for a repeating pattern, the black 'bit' pixels are actually counting up in binary, so every 8 black pixels are actually based on the images position on the sprite sheet, so the first image (index 0, because programming) has all 'bits' turned off because its binary number is 00000000, and it progresses up to 255 and all bits are turned on ...

  6. gamepopper. •. Typically, most 8-bit era games limit themselves to the NES colour palette, some of the games that are more dedicated to the art style (i.e. Retro City Rampage and Shovel Knight) will also try to limit each sprites to having four to eight colours, and fewer will also try to limit to the NES colour palette.

  11. Any luck generating pixel art / 8bit art with Stable Diffusion?

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/x58im5/any_luck_generating_pixel_art_8bit_art_with

Using “pixel art” or “8bit” prompts seems to generate blocky but not pleasing results in stable diffusion. I think this is a popular format, so I figured I’d ask if anyone has had success with engineering good prompts for pixel art in stable diffusion. One thing to try might be making the image size really small.
