    Posted February 10, 2009. I fish the sucker runs for suckers, it's a blast catching huge suckers on a fly rod. you can catch 50 a day if you want to. They pull like no ones business. Got to be careful though, as they will snap a fly rod with to much pressure. It's not the first 30 that will get ya.

    I then use a small, pointed, sharp pair of fiskars scissors and start at the anus and cut to the top (dorsal) side of the fish. Then cut about 1/4 inch up the back and then down to the belly. These strips can then be cut in half depending on the size of the sucker.
