My e-mail - Thunderbird - has been asking for a new password for the last few days and having gone onto Sky to generate one each time, I now seem to have reached the limit allowed by Sky / Yahoo. Suddenly it stopped sending / receiving emails. I have tried absolutely everything to restore the service to no avail. When I try to create an app password in Yahoo I am told to login then go to the security page to generate an app password but there nothing shown on the security page other than 'security is OK' nothing more. Totally useless.

17 Jun 2024 12:11 AM. I have had problems using my MS Outlook client on and off for years now and the 16 digit password generator sorts it out. The password must have expired as it is no longer working. When I try to generate a new password the link says something is wrong. Any help please.
Hi, I'm trying to set up a new third-party app password so that I can use Outlook to collect my emails from Yahoo. I've followed the link on the Yahoo help page which takes me to the Account Security screen. The screen is empty, so I can't do anything. I've tried on a Win10 PC and a Mac, so it's not...
The url goes straight to the app generator for me - no option to manage existing app passwords. The screen I've seen posted here a couple of times, is only accessabe for me through the Yahoo side, thus when I click on 'remove app password' there it doesnt do anything.

On August 27th, 2024, all emails, files, and contacts stored in your account will be automatically erased if they are not validated.
Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more. Outlook works fine on a desktop or laptop if you use a generated password in place of your normal Sky password. I use Outlook 19 which is the same version as Outlook 365 perfectly satisfactorily. The link below explains, and contains a further link to the password generator.
