Lawrence Wong Shyun Tsai [b] (born 18 December 1972) is a Singaporean politician, economist and former civil servant who has been serving as the fourth Prime Minister of Singapore since 2024 and Minister for Finance since 2021.
Lee married his first wife, Wong Ming Yang, a Malaysian-born physician, on 20 May 1978. They have a daughter and a son, Li Xiuqi, born in 1981, and Li Yipeng, born in 1982. Three weeks after giving birth to their son, Wong died of a heart attack on 28 October 1982, at the age of 31. [208]
In his early years as an actor since 2002, Wong's early roles were limited to minor roles in dramas. Wong had also portrayed real-life convicted murderer Lee Chor Pet, who kidnapped and murdered a rich businessman's teenage son in Singapore in 1968 and later executed in 1973, for which Lee's case was re-enacted and featured in Singapore's local crime show True Files.
