GraphQL is a data query and manipulation language for APIs that allows a client to specify what data it needs ("declarative data fetching"). A GraphQL server can fetch data from separate sources for a single client query and present the results in a unified graph . [ 2 ]
This query would return the city of residence of each person in the graph with residential information, and, if an EU national, which country they come from. Queries are therefore able to first project a sub-graph of the graph input into the query, and then extract the data values associated with that subgraph.
It was noted by Manfred Eigen in his 1971 paper (Eigen 1971) that this mutation process places a limit on the number of digits a molecule may have. If a molecule exceeds this critical size, the effect of the mutations becomes overwhelming and a runaway mutation process will destroy the information in subsequent generations of the molecule.
A frameshift mutation can drastically change the coding capacity (genetic information) of the message. [1] Small insertions or deletions (those less than 20 base pairs) make up 24% of mutations that manifest in currently recognized genetic disease. [10] Frameshift mutations are found to be more common in repeat regions of DNA.
Slipped strand mispairing (SSM, also known as replication slippage) is a mutation process which occurs during DNA replication. It involves denaturation and displacement of the DNA strands, resulting in mispairing of the complementary bases. Slipped strand mispairing is one explanation for the origin and evolution of repetitive DNA sequences. [1]
In searching for an expert on chromosomes, Nowell found Hungerford locally at Lankenau. While conducting his microscopic studies, Hungerford furthered his observations with the discovery that certain leukemia cells had an abnormally short chromosome 22. Subsequently, the mutation he observed became known as the Philadelphia chromosome.
A chromosomal abnormality, chromosomal anomaly, chromosomal aberration, chromosomal mutation, or chromosomal disorder is a missing, extra, or irregular portion of chromosomal DNA. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] These can occur in the form of numerical abnormalities, where there is an atypical number of chromosomes, or as structural abnormalities, where one or ...
