TScript is an object-oriented embeddable scripting language for C++ that supports hierarchical transient typed variables (TVariable). Its main design criterion is to create a scripting language that can interface with C++, transforming data and returning the result.
Some data in ChatScript is transient, meaning it will disappear at the end of the current volley. Other data is permanent, lasting forever until explicitly killed off. Data can be local to a single user or shared across all users at the bot level. Internally all data is represented as text and is automatically converted to a numeric form as needed.
The library uses Ajax for communicating with browsers compatible with it, while using plain HTML-form post-backs for other user agents. Using a progressive bootstrap -method, the user interface is rendered as a plain HTML document first, then, provided its support in browser, it is automatically upgraded to use Ajax for increased interactivity.
The name read–eval–print loop comes from the names of the Lisp primitive functions which implement this functionality: The read function accepts an expression from the user, and parses it into a data structure in memory. For instance, the user may enter the s-expression (+ 1 2 3), which is parsed into a linked list containing four data ...
The input data can be a class so that input data can be characterized as a model–view–controller (MVC) view. The Mustache template does nothing but reference methods in the (input data) view. [3] All the logic, decisions, and code is contained in this view, and all the markup (ex. output XML) is contained in the template.
Do not use let scriptNameSettingName = 'value here'; in the common.js file. If the user forgets the setting, you may get undeclared variable errors. If you want your user script to write and save configuration settings as it is running, you may want to have it write to its own .js file in the user's userspace.
