When Dave Seville goes to Europe on a business trip, the Chipmunks—Alvin, Simon, and Theodore—are left home in Los Angeles with their babysitter, Miss Miller. Later, the Chipmunks and Chipettes—Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor—play an arcade game Around the World in 30 Days, and Alvin and Brittany argue over which would win an actual race around the world after Brittany wins the game.
Alvin runs off into the woods, and runs into a wild chipmunk. He decides to change places with the chipmunk, and he stays in the chipmunk's tree, while the wild chipmunk takes his place. All goes well until the real Alvin is caught by a hunter that holds him hostage. Simon, Theodore, and the wild chipmunk must save Alvin.
The Murakami-Wolf-Swenson episodes were animated by A-1 Productions. The last Season was animated by Sei Young Animation. The show aired from September 17, 1983, to December 1, 1990, on NBC and is the follow-up to the original 1961–1962 series, The Alvin Show. [6]

Clyde Crashcup was created by Ross Bagdasarian.He is voiced by Shepard Menken mimicking the enunciation of Richard Haydn's nasal-voiced character Edwin Carp. Clyde had one of the four segments of each episode of The Alvin Show, and the Chipmunks starred in the other three (two of which were musical segments).
