When I started looking, a Gravely may pop up for sale every couple of months… it has been several months since I have seen a realistically-priced Gravely. As of late, when a Gravely does appear in my geographical location, they typically carry a very high price tag ($1,000 - $1,500)… which I would never consider paying.

Since we have a little over a quarter of a mile of creek frontage maintaining this does require some time but I postulate that the time required previously will overshadow the activities now because 95% of the clearing can be done entirely with a Gravely rather than a Gravely (70%) and hand-cutting (30%) with the brush cutter.
Seems to have been well taken care of. Purchased from former owner's grandson. I am a first time Gravely owner and need the machine to brush hog around my 3 acre property. I have been going through $30 used modern push mowers. haha. I have limited experience maintaining lawn equipment but this forum seems like it will be a great resource for me.
If you've been thinking of going the rattle can route, like I do, (your) 8000 and newer "new Gravely red" is still available at Ariens Gravely dealers. The label reads "Gravely Red Touch-Up Paint PN 00008700" The '72 814 in my avatar is painted incorrectly (arghh, ME, Mr."Correct Color" of all people).:sidelaugh in "your" Gravely Red #00008700.
There is a Gravely 817 for sale near me (Massey Guy here) that has a 16.5 hp Onan CCK that is running and AG tires. I am interested mostly in the AG tires for my 1855 if the tires are 26x12x12 or possibly 23x10.50x12 for my 1450. What do these tractors usually bring? Thanks
And as far as the "Gravely charges that for them" thing its just a regular autolite 3076 plug, didnt say Gravely anywhere on it or the box. I hate to say it but they should just take the Gravely advertisement off their bldg. And anytime they wanna challenge me on it I have the reciept to show anyone.
Yes, ALL 816 tractors have the same transmission. In fact are they 816 models, 816T or 816S? In fact, there are only minor differences in all GRAVELY 4 wheel tractor transmissions used in 800, 8000, 8000G and Pro G series tractors from 1971 to 2003.
The swiftamatic differential lever is a smaller lever mounted near and under the exhaust, for high range pull the lever toward you, for low range push the lever towards the front of the tractor. Now if you know all this then let us know as there will be other things to check and or look for. Sent from the MTF Free App
