NDS emulation status in 2024. Hello everyone, I'm itching to play some older titles again (hgss, b2w2) and try some games I missed in NDS. I have used desemu a few years ago and have used drasticds for android. So far I liked drasticDS.
Best Nintendo DS Emulator for Windows? I'm looking for a good Nintendo DS emulator that works well on Windows 10. Can anyone recommend one with good compatibility, smooth performance, and user-friendly controls? I've looked at older posts, but I'm hoping for more recent recommendations. Thanks a ton in advance!
In summary, the 3DS' screen (s) doesn't have the correct pixel count to display DS games properly, and the hardware is too weak to interpolate the pixels in any remotely attractive way. If you want to buy hardware to play DS games, the DSi XL is your best bet by far. That model (and ONLY that model) is guaranteed to come with dual IPS displays ...
Personally, I recommend Melonds because it is the only emulator supporting Local Wi-Fi, allowing you to trade Pokemon from one game to another and evolving certain ones without using external softwares. In short, MelonDS will give you the full Nintendo DS experience. Desmume is the best and most comfortable to use.
Best DS Emulator for PC I’m looking for a good emulator to play Pokémon games on PC. I used to use OpenEMU on Mac but it’s not compatible for PC. Ideally would have the ability to speed up gameplay for when I’m training, and the ability to play the game boy games as well though that’s less important. Please let me know what the best emulators are that I should look into. 🕹️🎮 1 ...
Hey, I was wondering what anyone's control bindings were for the DS emulator DeSmuME. I tried a bunch of bindings and they all felt weird to me. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Have an amazing day everyone! [Edit: Using a keyboard]
Still Citra. The others current 3DS emulators are either a work in progress (Mikage) or are not at the level of emulation and performance that Citra was (Panda3DS), so if you download the latest build of Citra you will probably have better performance and compatibility to play something now. Over the time these other 3DS emulators should ...
so for ds games, Desmume or melonDS is your best bet. for gba, use mGBA. for 3ds games, use Citra, and for switch games, use either Yuzu or Ryujinx. though it can be pretty hard to emulate switch games if your pc isn't strong enough.
If you're not interested in EmuDeck, as I wasn't (though I do use it on the Deck), I have 6 emulators installed to desktop and they all work great: SNES9X - SNES. Simple64 - N64. PPSSPP - PSP. Dolphin - Gamecube (and I think Wii) Duckstation - PS1. PCSX2 - PS2.
Here is a good wiki for emulators. It keeps tabs on the most common/popular emulators and which ones are the "best" and up to date. Its fairly simple to read and understand.
