A-2 is a county-designated highway in the US state of Michigan running about 42 miles (68 km) along the shores of Lake Michigan in the southwestern part of the Lower Peninsula. The county highway starts near the town of Lake Michigan Beach in Berrien County at an intersection with M-63 and follows Blue Star Highway through rural coastal areas.
M-102 was first designated along 8 Mile Road from US 10 (Woodward Avenue, now M-1) to US 25 (Gratiot Avenue, now M-3) in late 1928 or early 1929. [2] [3] In 1939, the eastern terminus was moved as M-102 was extended along 8 Mile and Vernier Roads to end in Grosse Pointe Shores at M-29 (Jefferson Avenue).
At the intersection of Main Street and Second Street the O-L-D met up with the present day alignment of US 136. The highway continued east out of Edison for about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) before turning south for one mile (1.6 km) along present day Road 432. It then traveled east for 3 miles (4.8 km) along Road 720.
