This is a list of planned cities (sometimes known as planned communities or new towns) by country. Additions to this list should be cities whose overall form (as opposed to individual neighborhoods or expansions) has been determined in large part in advance on a drawing board, or which were planned to a degree which is unusual for their time and place.
Sunbridge is a master-planned community located in Central Florida, developed by Tavistock Development Company. [1] The community, which opened in 2020, encompasses more than 27,000 acres [2] across both Orange County, Florida and Osceola County, Florida in Central Florida between metro Orlando and the Space Coast.
As each community began to be developed, the developer built the roads, sewer and water plants, golf courses, marinas, other basic amenities and even operated landfills. These new communities had the feel of "company towns." When North Port was incorporated, GDC employees even made up the first City Council. [14]
The community has two 18-hole private golf courses, and a clubhouse with many recreational facilities like a fitness center, a swimming pool, a ballroom, a movie theater, restaurants and much more.

The planned community was approved as part of a public-private partnership with the State of Florida and local governments. The deal established the neighboring Babcock Ranch Preserve. [3] Construction on the Ranch began in 2016 and opened in 2018 as America’s first solar town.
The building is planned to rise to the maximum allowable height in downtown Miami of 1,049 ft (320 meters) above sea level, or about 1,040 ft (317 meters) above ground, [1] [2] making it easily the tallest building in Miami and Florida, surpassing the Panorama Tower built in 2017. Construction began in late 2022 and is expected to complete in 2027.
