Silver City is a town in Grant County, New Mexico, United States. It is the county seat [5] and the home of Western New Mexico University. As of the 2010 census the population was 10,315. [6] As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,704. [7]

The H. B. Ailman House is a historic house located at 314 W. Broadway in Silver City, New Mexico.Prospector Henry B. Ailman had the house built using his profits from the Naiad Queen Silver Mine in Georgetown; his business partner H. M. Meredith built an identical house next door, which has since been demolished.
