The Village Halloween Parade is an annual holiday parade held on the night of Halloween, in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. The parade, initiated on October 31, 1974, by Greenwich Village puppeteer and mask maker Ralph Lee, is the world's largest Halloween parade and the only major nighttime parade in the United States. The 74th annual York Halloween Parade will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. The parade route is on Market Street from Richland Avenue to Broad Street. The theme this year is "Rave from the Grave."

Jeanne Fleming is an American Celebration Artist from New York City, who organized the Harbor Festival Fair in 1986, the Official Land Celebration for the Centennial of the Statue of Liberty and who is currently director of New York's Village Halloween Parade. Fleming uses pageant-sized puppets – giant rod puppets operated by teams of puppeteers.
