Opabinia regalis is an extinct, stem group arthropod found in the Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale Lagerstätte (505 million years ago) of British Columbia. [1] Opabinia was a soft-bodied animal, measuring up to 7 cm in body length, and had a segmented trunk with flaps along its sides and a fan-shaped tail.
Hallucigenia is a genus of lobopodian known from Cambrian aged fossils in Burgess Shale-type deposits in Canada and China, and from isolated spines around the world. [4] The generic name reflects the type species' unusual appearance and eccentric history of study; when it was erected as a genus, H. sparsa was reconstructed as an enigmatic animal upside down and back to front. The first episode deals with early life in the water; after a depiction of the giant impact hypothesis and the formation of the Moon, the episode forwards to the Cambrian period. The Cambrian segment showcases strange early arthropods, such as the super-predator Anomalocaris, and Haikouichthys, described as the first vertebrate.
The strangest-looking animals from Sirius Passet are Pambdelurion and Kerygmachela. They are generally regarded as anomalocarids because they have long, soft, segmented bodies with a pair of broad fin-like flaps on most segments and a pair of segmented appendages at the rear. The outer parts of the top surfaces of the flaps have grooved areas ...
A nektaspid arthropod that belonged to the family Naraoiidae, that lived from the early Cambrian to the late Silurian period. The species are characterized by a large alimentary system and sideways oriented antennas. It reached small to average sizes (about 2-4.5 cm long). Hanburia: Arthropoda (unranked) Artiopoda. Walcott Quarry; Tulip Beds
This list contains many extinct arthropod genera from the Cambrian Period of the Paleozoic Era. Some trilobites, bradoriids and phosphatocopines may not be included due to the lack of literature on these clades and inaccessibility of many papers describing their genera. This list also provides references for any Wikipedia users who intend to ...

Estimated to reach 34.2–37.8 cm (13.5–14.9 in) long excluding the frontal appendages and tail fan, [4] Anomalocaris is one of the largest animals of the Cambrian, and thought to be one of the earliest examples of an apex predator, [5] [6] though others have been found in older Cambrian lagerstätten deposits.
