January 2, 2013 Hobo Hill Historic District is a national historic district located in Jefferson City , Cole County, Missouri . It encompasses seven contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Jefferson City.
In 1961, needing additional space, the post office moved to a new facility. Two years later, the courts also vacated. The building was unoccupied until 1965, when it served as a public high school for three years after Hurricane Betsy destroyed McDonough 35 High School. Between 1971 and 1972, the federal building underwent an extensive restoration.

By the 1870s it became apparent that San Francisco was in dire need of a federal building to house the federal courts and the post office that were located in various downtown buildings. In 1887 a commission delegated to select a site reported that the $350,000 allocated by the U.S. Congress was insufficient and the sum was raised to $1,250,000.

There is an entry hall on the one side of the house, which is two smaller rooms divided by a short entry hall. There is a skylight in the central dining room.

In 1995, the building was renamed to honor Judge Richard Harvey Chambers, whose concept it was to bring a Federal courthouse to Pasadena. [2]
