I recently had an engine failure that it appears many others with 2016 Sorentos are also experiencing. it seems the problem is coming up then the cars get to a certain milage with most failing between 100k and 150k miles. Mine was at 142,000 miles. The issue is the aluminum engine block and heads is not playing nicely with the head bolts.
The Kia Connect app I was using until a couple of days ago was good. It was a bit clunky but it worked. Then a new update V7.5.0 was issued and it stopped working. It showed my car and my name after logging in successfully but said “Vehicle data was not loaded” and “Request timed out. Please try again.”.

351 posts · Joined 2023. #4 · Jun 24, 2024 (Edited) A Kia tech on another forum chimed in on the topic of engine break-in. Proper "break in" of a new engine is important. Use manual mode on the trans and create lots of cylinder pressure. Put it into 4th gear at low speed and floor it.
