  2. Weber 5F6A kit on the way. Any experience with weber kits?

    www.tdpri.com/threads/weber-5f6a-kit-on-the-way-any-experience-with-weber-kits...

Ted Weber's approach to amp kits was to offer the lowest cost, but reliable, basic kit that he could offer for experienced builders who would then substitute in any parts they preferred. By comparison, the Mojo and Boothill use quality, over-the-counter parts you often find in production amps or boutique amps.

  3. Jensen P10R Reissue or Weber 10A125? - The Gear Page

    www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/jensen-p10r-reissue-or-weber-10a...

Weber's smooth cones are considerably stiffer than the old very thin smooth cones and make for a much warmer and less distorted speaker. Also a variety of ribbed cones for a range of sounds. Also all sound warmer than a true old Jensen or Rola, but I do like them.

The Weber Alnico Blue Dogs are a little thicker in the mid-range to lower-mids and I feel would be a better fit for the Black Cat. FWIW: I typically prefer Alnico speakers in all my amps, but I recently picked up a Bad Cat Cub 15r with the Bad Cat V30.

  5. General Impressions of Weber 12F150 | Telecaster Guitar Forum

    www.tdpri.com/threads/general-impressions-of-weber-12f150.54748

Re: Weber 12F150 Well, after listening to the Weber for a week, I got out the screwdriver and pliers and put the Jensen back in. A nice clean sound with no artifacts, or grit or honk or whatever you want to call it. The Weber has that overdriven sound going for it, and if that's what you are seeking, there you go.

  6. Weber Minimass Thoughts? - Telecaster Guitar Forum

The Weber was the best because it had a lot of flexibility and compensatory tone controls, but...I still hated them all for home use. For live, it works fine to cut 6 dB. When you get down to the really low wattage, too many changes, including what is felt, the amount of air moved, how your ear reacts to high volum...are noticeable.

  7. Weber Amp Kits? - The Gear Page

Weber transformer are made offshore, but seem to be of excellent quality. My understanding is they order a couple dozen trannies of slightly different specs and then try each one out when designing a new kit, then they pick the best sounding.

  8. Tweed Champ 8" speaker - Weber CVA8 or Alnico Sig?

    www.tdpri.com/threads/tweed-champ-8-speaker-weber-cva8-or-alnico-sig.929460

I just got it installed around Christmas time and have about 4 hrs of playing time on it. Its seems to be breaking in nicely and gets a little warmer every time I play it. It'll do the great 5F1 overdrive thing really well too and it is a bit louder than the original. I think if you buy direct from Weber they will break it in for free.

  10. Super Champ XD: I finally found the right speaker! (10" speakers...

    www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/super-champ-xd-i-finally-found-the...

So after owning a Super Champ XD for a few years, I believe I have finally found the right speaker upgrade: the Weber 10F125, 30 watts, no dope. One that retains the core bright tone of the stock speaker, but with much greater efficiency (volume), more clarity, more responsive feel, and the ability to hold together at higher volumes.

  11. Weber California Speakers - Telecaster Guitar Forum

    www.tdpri.com/threads/weber-california-speakers.119507

Weber's ceramic Cali is probably my favorite speaker from them. Very balanced - a really big sound. If you want to really hear what the amp itself is doing, these are a great choice, IMO. They are also really loud. Ted doesn't like to play the sensitivity game, but the Cali's are easily some of the loudest that I've tried.
