The Room Store (commonly stylized as RoomStore) was a chain of furniture retail stores in the eastern and southern United States, which operated from 1992 to 2012. The company, which was owned by RoomStore, Inc., specialized in retailing all the pieces of furniture for an entire room rather than individual pieces of furniture.
It consists principally of a group of late-19th and early-20th century frame and brick commercial buildings with dwellings located at the outer boundaries. Notable buildings include the Bank of Shawsville (1910), W.W. Lykens Furniture Store (c. 1905), White Memorial Church (c. 1935), and the Showalter House. [3]
Manassas Mall is a shopping center located in Bull Run, Virginia (near Manassas). Built in 1972, it is owned by Lionheart Capital LLC and managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group. formerly by Vornado Realty Trust which shelved its regional mall holdings in 2014.
In 1857 Sam Hecht, Jr. opened a used furniture store on Aliceanna Street (near South Broadway) in Baltimore, Maryland. By 1870 this venture had moved to a more auspicious location at 519 South Broadway where the name 'HECHT'S RELIABLE STORES' could be seen carved in foot-high letters into the granite cornice above the third floor (now demolished).
In early 1952, it opened to complement the adjoining Kann's-Virginia store. [1] At opening, the 15-store center included a Giant supermarket, Peoples Drug, Fanny Farmer candy store, L. Frank Co. women's apparel, Jonas men's apparel, the Bo Peep Shop, Mary Baynes Gift Shop, [2] and an F. W. Woolworth Company variety store.
Manassas (/ m É™ ˈ n æ s É™ s / [7]), formerly Manassas Junction, [8] is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. The population was 42,772 at the 2020 Census. [ 9 ] It is the county seat of Prince William County , although the two are separate jurisdictions. [ 10 ]
