Lake Oologah is a reservoir in northeastern Oklahoma. It is located near the towns of Oologah , Nowata , and Claremore . The lake has a surface of 29,500 acres (119 km 2 ) of water and 209 miles (336 km) of shoreline with 11 lake-side parks.
Members of the Local Environmental Action Demanded (LEAD) Agency, an area advocacy group, worry that raising the water level will make flooding worse at the lake's upstream rivers.
The Reservoir covers approximately 17,040 acres (69 km²). It is the seventh largest lake in Oklahoma by surface area. At normal levels, the lake holds 428,600 acre-feet (528,700,000 m 3) of water, the ninth largest lake in capacity in Oklahoma.
