STIHL’s FARM BOSS’s last a long long time with little care. If you plan to saw 8-12″ stuff get a less weight saw and 16″ bar. But if you are going to saw WOOD get a BOSS with a 20″ bar, you are going to spend less time doing it!!!
From Stihl’s website it looks like the Stihl MS250 or MS251 would be fine for this light duty work. The MS250 is a lot less expensive but I think the MS251 is worth the extra money but it’s been awhile since I kept up with Stihl saws so I thought I’d inquire if anybody is familiar with these two models and how much difference there is ...
I will sell you my stihl farm boss, have about 5 extra chains. Its one of those that will run forever! has been a great tool for me. Bought it to clear downed trees from a tornado in 1999. Used it after another storm in 2010 and of course various limbs down every other year. Never a hiccup. That farm boss is a great chain saw.
Stihl Chainsaws. I ended up buying a Echo56v Electric chainsaw (18″ bar) that I keep at home for if the needs arises (it hasn’t yet in 2 years, but that’s the beauty of electric saws, they can sit if needed) I have other yard tools (blower/trimmer) that utilize the same battery and that’s the gamechanger imo on deciding if to make the ...
Stihl makes great saws, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them, but the Pro model will last longer. The 3 models you listed are home owner model saws and will be underrated for HP for a 18″ bar in my opinion. I went with the MS261 C-M about 2 years ago and am very pleased with it’s performance.
Stihl MS290 Problem. This probably isn’t the best forum to ask this question, but I saw another guy ask about Stihl saws, so I figured I’ll give it a shot. I’ve got an MS 290 that won’t start. Carb works fine; fuel line and fuel are good; air filter is clean; plug has a spark, motor isn’t seized up. I’ve spent hours tearin the thing ...
April 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm #2114025. 20v De Walt. Have a BR600 b.pack and handheld Stihl. Only break out the back pack to blow the gravel out of the grass from snowplowing in spring. And Fall leaves, and corn trash from combining behind the house. Battery unit is the nuts for garage and gutters.
Get a Stihl, run non oxy gas, it will last forever . Get an older, well taken care of Stihl running non-oxy and it will last forever. Some of the emission BS on the new saws is a joke. I’m still a Stihl guy, but like anything…I question how long the new stuff will last and hold up to abuse
Well, there’s a few more to add to my Signs You’re Obsolete List: – I carry a pocket knife. Every day. Even at work. – I have used the word “conniption” at least once within the last week. Much to my wife’s distress, my boys say things like, “I have to pee like a Russian racehorse.”.
I am 99% sure this carb is coming from the Chinese factory that makes Stihl OEMs. Every casting mark and every line is the same. China is stamped in the same place on the bottom of the carb. Only thing missing is the “Stihl” stamp on the bottom. I have since used generic carbs on a Tecumseh snowblower, a Briggs mower engine, and a Stihl ...
