I apologize; unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the search box from the taskbar entirely. However, you can hide the search box by performing the steps below. 1. Right-click the taskbar. 2. Select Search, then select Hidden. I hope this information helps solve the issue.

In your keyboard press Windows key + R. type: gpedit.msc. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search. Double-click the policy named Allow Cortana. Set the Allow Cortana option to “Disabled” and then click “OK”. You can now close the group policy editor.
