I wouldn't trust it on the road so I either have to find a steel hood or buy a glass bolt-on hood. I already have a scoop if I go the steel hood route. As I said, I'd really like to know what Hero Car #1 ended the show with. Barring any major problems I'd say a year until it starts going back together and two until it's on the road.
The Mopar club I belong to is having their last dealership Mopar show of the year this coming weekend on Sunday September 22nd from 9AM to 3PM EST, it is located at the new Artioli Dodge dealer at 525 Enfield Street in Enfield CT. Show entry closes at 12 noon. They have 17 show classes and a non Mopar class.
Recently at our shop, we tore down a 454 BB Chevy to de-cam it some for EFI. The idiots that built the engine installed a retro-hyd-roller cam (a Mother Thumpr, of course!) and had NO THRUST BUTTON. Amazingly, the timing cover had zero wear markings and the lifter roller tracking looked pretty centered on the lobes.
Depending on your goal, show car or driver for example, you can make it look good with a dash cap. I cut off the raised, cracked vinyl, filled the cracks with plastic putty and color matched a dash cap on mine. View attachment 1394542.
Well-Known Member. not much, be ready to plug a few vacuum lines. carb/intake/air cleaner, you will have to extend the throttle cable, re route the fuel line. you can make the brackets work or find some off a factory 4 barrel car/truck. i did this with my 400 2 barrel using a 383 intake. please chime in if i missed something here fellas.
