The present Livonia High building was built in 1936. It was originally a two-story brick building. The second floor was lost to a fire in 1971. During the 1990/1991 school year, Livonia High was scheduled to be closed down as part of a parish-wide school consolidation plan that resulted in the establishment of Pointe Coupee Central High School.
The school was closed down by the parish school board after the 2013-2014 school year. [3] The school's student body was moved to Livonia High School starting with the 2014-2015 school year. The school's campus was repurposed to house the new STEM Magnet Academy of Pointe Coupee beginning with the 2016-2017 school year.
The school's mascot was the Tigers. Morganza High School's football team won a state championship in 1955 while playing as part of a six-man football scheme. [3] The former high school building later became home to Morganza Elementary which was administered by the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board until being closed in 2008.
