State Highway 276 (SH 276) is a Texas state highway that runs from Rockwall east to Emory. This route was designated on July 25, 1960, between Rockwall and Quinlan, replacing FM 1143 and part of FM 35. SH 276 was extended to its current terminus on October 25, 1990, replacing most of FM 35.
The highway shares overlaps with the business routes of I-45 and US 287 in the city and leaves the city after intersecting I-45. After crossing the Trinity River, SH 34 enters Kaufman County and runs near the communities of Scurry and Rosser before entering Kaufman. The highway intersects US 175 and shares an overlap with SH 243 in the city.
A few miles east of here, FM 1585 enters into the city of Lubbock, running along the southernmost boundary of the city. The highway leaves the Lubbock city limits just west of the US 87 intersection. East of US 87, FM 1585 becomes a rural route once again, ending at an intersection with US 84 just north of Slaton.
