Steven Weinberg (/ ˈ w aɪ n b ɜːr ɡ /; May 3, 1933 – July 23, 2021) was an American theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate in physics for his contributions with Abdus Salam and Sheldon Glashow to the unification of the weak force and electromagnetic interaction between elementary particles.
Time Reborn: From the Crisis in Physics to the Future of the Universe is a 2013 book by the American theoretical physicist Lee Smolin. Smolin argues for what he calls a revolutionary view that time is real, in contrast to existing scientific orthodoxy which holds that time is merely a "stubbornly persistent illusion" ( Einstein 's words). Since 1989, he has been working on quantum theory, quantum computing and quantum information. From 1998 to 2000, he was a visiting scientist and an EPSRC fellow at the University of Wales, Bangor, UK.
