Due to its proximity to the state capital at Hartford, Wethersfield is the site of several State of Connecticut agencies: The Department of Motor Vehicles office and testing location at 60 State Street. The Department of Labor is headquartered at 200 Folly Brook Boulevard. The Department of Correction is headquartered at 24 Wolcott Hill Road.

Connecticut (/ k ə ˈ n ɛ t ɪ k ə t / ⓘ kə-NET-ih-kət) [10] is a state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States.It borders Rhode Island to the east, Massachusetts to the north, New York to the west, and Long Island Sound to the south.
Route 287 was established from previously unsigned state roads, SR 544 (Prospect Street) and SR 760 (Robbins Avenue), in 1969. However, it was not included in the official state highway map until 1975 because part of the route had been in arbitration with the town of Newington. It has had no significant changes since. [2]
Route 99 is a state highway in Connecticut running for 10.64 miles (17.12 km) from Route 9 in Cromwell, through the town of Rocky Hill, ending in Wethersfield at the Hartford city line. The road continues into Hartford as a local road (Wethersfield Avenue). It follows the former alignment of Route 9 from prior to that route's upgrade to a freeway.
The twenty-eighth Connecticut House of Representatives district elects one member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Its current representative is Amy Morrin Bello. The district consists of most of the town of Wethersfield, which is divided between the 28th assembly district and the 29th assembly district.
