Evil Dead The Musical is a rock musical stage play based on the Evil Dead franchise. First performed on stage in 2003 at the Tranzac club in Toronto, Ontario, the show instantly became a hit and eventually moved on to an off-Broadway run in 2006 at the New World Stages. Many regional productions of the show have been performed all over the world.
Evil Dead The Musical has had overwhelmingly positive reviews. The New York Times has called it "The Next Rocky Horror Show". [3] Entertainment Weekly called it "The show is as funny as it is gory" [4] The Hollywood Reporter called it "Silly, fun, loosely campy and not terrifying at all" [5]
In February 2024, it was reported that Sébastien Vaniček was attached to direct and co-write a new spin-off film of the Evil Dead franchise, [85] [86] while in April 2024, it was announced that another Evil Dead film was in development with Ghost House Pictures producing. Francis Galluppi will serve as writer and director, as selected by Raimi.
