Arizona State began their Sand Volleyball program in 2014. It officially became an NCAA Championship sport in 2016, as they changed the sport's name to Beach Volleyball. ASU is one of nine schools to play Beach Volleyball in the Pac-12 Conference, along with Arizona, California, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Utah, and Washington.
These collegiate women's beach volleyball teams compete as members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Currently, 101 college athletic programs sponsor the sport, with two more to do so in future seasons. [1]
Tammy Leibl (aka Tammy Webb; Tammy June Webb-Liley; and Tammy Liley, born March 5/6, 1965) is a retired American female indoor volleyball and beach volleyball player. [1] She played college volleyball at Arizona State University and won the bronze medal with the U.S. national team at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
