Lincoln Southwest High School is a Lincoln Public high school located 74 acres adjacent to Wilderness Park in Lincoln, Nebraska. [4] The school opened in August 2002 and was designed to hold around 1,500 students. [5] The student population as of the 2023-24 school year is 2,199 students in grades 9-12. [6]
The original Ocean View School was constructed in 1886 on the southwest corner of Huntington Beach Boulevard (Beach Boulevard) and Smeltzer Avenue (Edinger Avenue) in what was known as the village of Smeltzer, now part of north Huntington Beach. Students were from the surrounding farm communities of Ocean View, Smeltzer and Wintersburg Village.

During the 33-year time span under Harris, his teams won 19 league championships and three CIF Southern Section titles, and a 665–265 record. Huntington Beach High School bell tower and auditorium were originally built in 1903 and were rebuilt in 1926. [4] In July 2009, renovations were completed on the auditorium and the bell tower. Construction was also completed on the school's performing arts classrooms building and courtyard. The project was funded through taxes. [5]
