The MG XPower SV is a sports car that was produced by British automobile manufacturer MG Rover.Manufactured in Modena, Italy and finished at Longbridge, United Kingdom, it was based on the platform of the Qvale Mangusta, formerly the De Tomaso Biguà, itself using parts from the Ford Mustang.
The MG XPower brand was created by MG Rover for their motorsport subsidiary, MG Sport & Racing Ltd., in 2001. [2] The brand was subsequently used for the MG XPower SV sports car in 2002. William Riley bought the rights to the brand from the administrators in 2008, following the collapse of MG Rover three years earlier. [3]
The MG6 X-Power is the performance variant of the MG6. On 18 July 2021, MG declared the price of the X-Power variant to be 199,980 yuan (about US$30,000) in China. Consumers can pay 9.9 yuan to preorder the vehicle, and production is limited to 100 per month.
The XPower ZT is fitted with a 500PS supercharged 4.6 litre Ford Modular V8, similar the engine fitted to the 260 ZT. The XPower 500 has a more aggressive wide bodykit, with larger spoiler similar to the XPower 385. The car was saved by the MG Owners Club, and rebuilt using their extensive facilities and expertise. The car was allocated VIN No 001.
