Fred Rerun Berry (born Fred Allen Berry; March 19, 1951 – October 21, 2003) was an American actor and street dancer.He was best known for his role as Freddie "Rerun" Stubbs on the 1970s television show What's Happening!! and its sequel series What's Happening Now!!
Mabel King finally left the show (her character moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to tend to a sick relative), and Shirley moved into the Thomas household as a boarder and Dee's guardian. Also, several new recurring characters were introduced. The first was a basketball player whom Roger tutored and nicknamed "The Snake" (played by Leland Smith).
After the first successful season, Fred Berry attempted to negotiate a higher salary than his co-stars based on what he perceived as the popularity of the "Rerun" character. Having caused similar issues during the production of the original series, which led to its cancellation, producers fired Berry from the series.
Roger is in a dilemma when, out of pity, he uses Rerun as the main character in a skit Roger wrote for their theatre arts class when their teacher's friend, a TV producer whom Roger tries to impress with his skit, visits to see the class projects. As expected, with Rerun cast as the main character, the presentation of the skit turns into disaster.

After a minor scuffle, the friends are happily reunited. Wanting to surprise Rerun with Raj's return, Dwayne and Shirley ask him to drop by the house. Instead of being happy, Rerun surprisingly upset at Raj's return. He envisions Raj as a successful writer and therefore a threat to his claim to fame as a television commercial pitchman.
