Elijah Bristow State Park is an 847-acre (343 ha) park that stretches for 3 miles (4.8 km) along the south bank of the river below Dexter Dam. Park amenities include picnic tables, restrooms, equestrian staging areas, horseshoe pits, a wildlife viewing platform, and a boat launch. The park has 12 miles (19 km) of trails through woods and meadows.

Dexter is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located near Dexter Reservoir, a.k.a. Dexter Lake, a reservoir of the Middle Fork Willamette River along Oregon Route 58. Access to Dexter Lake, a popular fishing and boating site, is available at Dexter State Recreation Site.
Dexter–Huron Metropark is a 122-acre (0.49 km 2) park on the Huron River in the Huron-Clinton system of metro parks. The park has three picnic areas, a children's play area, a softball diamond, fishing, and canoe launching. A Metropark daily or annual vehicle permit is required for entry.
Dexterville was founded in about 1848. [4] In 1850, the sawmilling magnate George Hiles moved to the area and set up a lumbermill in Dexterville. Dexter township may be named after Dexter, Michigan, the native home of a first settler, although folk etymology maintains the township is named after the mule of a local pioneer. [5]
