Rancho Drive originally carried State Route 5 from Bonanza Road (present–day State Route 579) northwest out of Las Vegas towards Tonopah—this destination contributed to the road's alternate name of Tonopah Highway. When US 95 was extended into Nevada in 1940, it was routed concurrently with SR 5 on Rancho Drive.
By 1968, the expressway was beginning to take shape, beginning at Las Vegas Boulevard downtown, interchanging with Interstate 15 and spurring west towards Rancho Drive. State Route 147 (SR 147) is a state highway serving the Las Vegas Valley in southern Nevada.It is signed as Lake Mead Boulevard and runs from Interstate 15 (I-15) and U.S. Route 93 (US 93) in North Las Vegas east to the border of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
The highway has major junctions with U.S. Route 93 (US 93; the main highway connecting Phoenix and Las Vegas, Nevada) in Kingman and again approximately 22 miles (35 km) to the east and I-17 (the freeway linking Phoenix to northern Arizona) in Flagstaff. For the majority of its routing through Arizona, I-40 follows the historic alignment of US 66.
The Las Vegas Beltway begins in Henderson at the I-11 / US 93 / US 95 interchange, where traffic on westbound Nevada State Route 564 (SR 564, Lake Mead Parkway) defaults onto I-215 west. From here, the beltway primarily follows the former Lake Mead Drive alignment west to the Pecos Road / Saint Rose Parkway ( SR 146 ) interchange.
It is a major thoroughfare for traffic between San Diego and the Inland Empire, as well as between Southern California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Intermountain West. South of its junction at I-8 in San Diego, the highway becomes SR 15, extending 6.13 miles (9.87 km) [ 1 ] to I-5 , about 12 miles (19 km) from the Mexico–United States border .

Interstate 515 (I-515) was a 20.54-mile-long (33.06 km) spur route of I-15 in the US state of Nevada that ran from the junction of I-15, US 93 and US 95 (the Las Vegas Spaghetti Bowl Interchange) in Downtown approximately 20 miles (32 km) southeast to just north of Railroad Pass in southeastern Henderson.
