1958 A-120 Travelette 4x4 (showing three-door cab) International introduced the Travelette for 1957 production. Based on the newly introduced A series pickup truck, [4] the Travelette added a rear seat to the cab by using the body structure of the Travelall wagon (analogous to the full-size SUVs of today), including its second passenger-side door. A four-wheel version of the Scarab was produced, named "Scarab Four". It was based on the Standard Atlas van chassis, later called the Leyland 20. This chassis was not well-adapted to the job and it was not a great success. The braking performance was much better than the three-wheel version but the independent front suspension gave a bouncy ride.
The wheelbase was longer, as the front wheels were mounted further forward. This increased the front clearance angle in spite of the lower body. [ 4 ] The range was C-100 to C-130, the heavier duty versions of the B-series were not replaced as the C-series gross vehicle weight rating now only went from 4,200 to 8,800 lb (1,900 to 4,000 kg). The B-120 was a 3 ⁄ 4-ton rated model and that was the only Travelall to come in four-wheel drive in this era. A B-122 model featured uprated springs for a higher GVW. The B series trucks carried on into the 1961 model year, when another mild facelift transformed them again into the C series. [1]

International B-120 4x4 flatbed truck. For 1959, the B series replaced the A series. [2] This was the first of the series to feature V8 engines as an option, of either 304 ci or 345 ci. [3] The usual engines were International's 'Diamond' series of inline-sixes. The B series had twin headlights, mounted above each other.
