Sugar Creek Township was organized in the 1830s, and named after the Sugar Creek which flows through it. [4] Statewide, four other Sugar Creek Townships are located in Allen, Stark, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties, plus a Sugarcreek Township in Greene County.
Sugarcreek Township was established in 1803. [5] The township was named for its Sugar Creek, a tributary of the Little Miami River. [6] It is the only Sugarcreek Township statewide, although there are five Sugar Creek Townships. [7]
