Sandusky County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,896. [2] Its county seat and largest city is Fremont. [3] The county was formed on February 12, 1820, from portions of Huron County.
The Board of County Commissioners serves as the Administrators for the entire County. Included in their responsibilities is the formulation of a multi-million dollar budget, approval of all purchase vouchers, negotiation and approval of union contracts, pro active long term planning, and the day-to-day handling of a wide variety of County issues.
