Nolan River is a river in north central Texas, running through Johnson County and Hill County and is part of the Brazos River drainage basin. The Nolan's headwaters are in farm land in northwest Johnson County. The river runs generally parallel to, and about 10 miles (16 km) east of, the Brazos River.

Cleburne State Park is a 528-acre (2.14 km 2) Texas state park in Johnson County, Texas operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The park includes the 116-acre (0.47 km 2), spring-fed Cedar Lake that was created by construction of an earthen dam by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is reached via US 67 to Park Road 21.
The creek flows primarily through the city of Cleburne where two smaller streams meet. The East Buffalo Creek originates near the town of Keene, flowing south-west into Cleburne.
