10-11 September – Storm Daniel strikes eastern Libya, killing 200 people. 2,000 are feared drowned, mostly in Derna. [13] [14] The death toll from the floods caused by Storm Daniel in northeastern Libya increased to 5,200 people, with thousands more missing. [15] The death toll later increases to 11,000 plus. [16]
