The Parliament of South Australia is the bicameral legislature of the Australian state of South Australia. It consists of the 47-seat House of Assembly ( lower house ) and the 22-seat Legislative Council ( upper house ). [ 2 ]
This is a list of members of the first parliament of the South Australian House of Assembly, which sat from 22 April 1857 until 1 March 1860. The members were elected at the inaugural 1857 election .
The first Europeans to explore South Australia were the crew of a Dutch vessel, the Gulden Zeepaert, led by Captain François Thijssen in 1627. From Cape Leeuwin in Western Australia, the ship followed the southern coast of Australia east for 1,000 miles, reaching the edge of the Great Australian Bight.

The Real Property Act 1886 , updated 3 October 2019, has a long title "An Act to consolidate and amend the Real Property Act 1861, the Real Property Act Amendment Act 1878 and the Rights-of-Way Act 1881, and for other purposes".
All four ships of the South Australia Company arrived at Nepean Bay on Kangaroo Island: the Duke of York on 27 July, Lady Mary Pelham on 30 July, John Pirie on 16 August and Emma on 5 October. More ships left in the coming months, making a total of at least nine, which for convenience can be regarded as the First Fleet of South Australia.

In 1834 the Imperial Parliament passed the South Australian Colonisation Act 1834, which authorised the King-in-Council to establish a colony called the 'Province of South Australia' and to provide for a government for the province.
