Ensemble Arts Philly (also called Ensemble Arts) is a presenting brand name from the Kimmel Cultural Campus and The Philadelphia Orchestra, representing a wide variety of genres, including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, and family presentations across three venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater.
Several parking garages and public transportation services provided by SEPTA and DRPA at the Walnut–Locust, 12-13th Street, and 15-16th Street stations, served by the Broad Street Line and the Lindenwold Line. The availability of public transportation makes Avenue of the Arts highly accessible to visitors.
Miller Theater, originally the Sam S. Shubert Theatre and later, the Merriam Theater, is Philadelphia's most continuous location for touring Broadway shows. It is located at 250 South Broad Street within the Avenue of the Arts cultural district of Center City Philadelphia. The Theatre was built by The Shubert Organization in 1918.
It was also home to the Philadelphia Orchestra from its inception in 1900 until 2001, when the orchestra moved to the new Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The Philadelphia Orchestra still retains ownership of the Academy, [5] in partnership with Ensemble Arts. The hall was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962. [3] [6]

Broad Street is home to several Philadelphia cultural landmarks. Broad Street between Spruce and Market Streets is known as the Avenue of the Arts, and includes the Academy of Music, and the Kimmel Center. Two blocks north of City Hall is the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and further north is the New Freedom Theatre. [12]
