Cameron County, officially the County of Cameron, is the southernmost county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 421,017. [1] [2] Its county seat is Brownsville. [3] The county was founded in 1848 and is named for Captain Ewen Cameron, [4] a soldier during the Texas Revolution and in the ill-fated Mier Expedition.

Palm Valley is a city in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,413 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas.
There was a brief period of settlement in Buena Vista in the 1930s. County highway maps of that year showed several farms here. Buena Vista continued to be listed on county maps in the 1960s, but there were no population estimates in 2000. [2]
