The stream Cedar Creek lies about three miles north on route M. [2] The community is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area. A post office called Cedar Creek was established in 1871, and the name was changed to Cedarcreek in 1894. [3] The community takes its name from nearby Cedar Creek. [4]

The first Taney County Courthouse was built on the mouth of Bull Creek at the confluence of the White River by early pioneers in 1837. Its use as a courthouse ended after Forsyth became the county seat; it was destroyed in a tornado in 1963. The county's second courthouse, in Forsyth, was destroyed in a Civil War battle on July 22, 1861.

Table Rock Lake is an artificial lake or reservoir in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas in the United States. Designed, built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the lake is impounded by Table Rock Dam, which was constructed from 1954 to 1958 on the White River.
